The front playground at South Mountain School was deemed by the district to be unsafe. It was closed since December 2022, but with heroic fundraising efforts and a long wait of materials, the brand new front playground opened in late spring of this year.
The back playground was installed at the same time as the original front playground and is in need of replacement.
In our district, the PTOs are responsible for funding the playgrounds at each school. The SMS PTO is now working towards raising approximately $100,000 to buy a new playground for the back yard. We need your help to raise the funds to make this new playground a reality this school year.
To help achieve this goal, we are opening a brick sale, where the bricks will line the base of the new foundation. For a $600 donation, donors will receive a brick that they can have inscribed with a message of their choice, as a legacy to their time in the community.
We also welcome any tax-deductible donation and corporate matching.
